The iconic brand Burberry was first founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry in Basingstoke, England. Burberry is a luxury goods brand selling clothing, accessories, shoes and fragrances. The iconic items which are associated with Burberry is the classic trench coat and the famous tartan print. There are shops worldwide with the iconic store being on Regent Street in London. The brand features in fashion weeks, magazines and is worn by many celebrities.

The Burberry trench coat is one of the most famous items in the world of high end luxury goods. When someone says Burberry,we automatically think of the trench coat. the trench coat became a popular item of clothing to wear in the army. the Burberry trench coat is traditionally lined with the iconic tartan print. It was traditionally made from gabardine fabric which Thomas Burberry also claimed to invent. In today's fashion trench coats are still a popular outerwear item and can be found on many high street stores. adaptation of the traditional trench coat have been done by adding fur around the colour and having the coat itself in other colours. For example, in the low budget high street store Primark, they are currently selling it for around £25. They have seen that it sells well and is what people want. For example, as well has having clothing, Michael Kors has a range of luxury bags and watches which today have proven popular. this is just an example as to how Burberry have influenced other designers and retilers.
